It isn't hard to find nature. It's everywhere - so much so that it's easy to forget it's even there. In this changing world we owe it to others and ourselves to seek it out, to appreciate it and to remember it. Photography is memory realised - a perfect recollection of a moment in time. I believe there is no more sublime cause than remembering moments in nature.

A native of Robin Hood country in Nottinghamshire, England I graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge in Veterinary Medicine. Through ways and means my wife and I have found ourselves onto Canada's West Coast, exploring the incredible wilderness environment of Vancouver Island from my base in the beautiful coastal city of Nanaimo. Being around animals for so long has given me an insight that is invaluable in predicting what they might be doing before I take the shot.

Whilst I love photographing all aspects of nature, I have a particular fondness for marine mammals. The difficulty of their environment, coupled with the transience of their appearances and the spectacular array of behaviour they exhibit provides a unique challenge as a photographer and some genuinely incredible moments in the field.
